I had a little respect for him last year; as a joke I was gonna sing "Baby" and "Eenie Meenie" in front of my entire summer workshop as a joke, turned out that the guy who was singing the Ludacris/Sean Kingston parts (I was JB) was too dead after a whole day of activity and then rapping the eminem part of "Forever" by drake. I kinda got used to his voice from that; I still have the majority of the lyrics memorized.

He has become too much of a bandwagon victim. He really is not THAT good where people need to cry when they see him or anything trivial like that. He has not done anything for the good of humanity, therefore he should not be idolized. I don't like or dislike him. He's doing his thing and it's obviously working.

I hate j****n b****r (if you're wandering why it's stars instead of letters, it's because his name is offensive to me) because, back in the real days of music, the real professionals, such as David Bowie, Queen, Ronnie James Dio, had to work hard just to earn a little bit of money, whereas he had to post a video on youtube, and he gets overpayed. The same goes for other 'singers' who 'sing' and *que sarcastic voice* don't ever use the computors to sing for them*back to normal voice* like cheryl cole, who got her record deal for being fit, or the musical rejects who win X factor just because they have a sad story to tell. It's people like him who cover up the real talent with their sh*t, when it should be the other way around.

"Real" music? There's no such thing as "real" music. There's just the simple fact of whether a person likes or dislikes someone's music. It doesn't matter whether they had to "work hard to make a little bit of money" or whether they "get overpayed for a YouTube video", the simple fact is that Beiber's music is liked by a vast majority of teenage girls, plus some people from other age groups. No one cares if you are fit or have a sad story to tell, because to be a singer, it's assumed that you know "how to sing", or how to attract the world's attention. No one's going to buy an album sung by someone with a terrible voice, no matter how sad their story is, because music is a form of entertainment. If the product doesn't entertain the audience, it won't sell. Beiber obviously entertains people, as do other musicians around the world. Deal with it, because not everyone in the world shares the same opinion about Beiber as you do, and that's certainly not Beiber's fault.

When I said real music (if i did say that), I meant music made with real instruments, not computers and computer programmes with samples of sounds from instruments that were pre recorded for the use of some song where the artist is too lazy to learn how to play an instrument. Same goes with singers who have to use pitch correction and auto tune because they can't sing in tune from not being able to know what note their singing, so people do listen to people who can't sing properly (the opposite of what you stated).
However, although I do hate singers who have to use computers to change their voice, sometimes it is needed, but that's only for reverb and chorus (more commonly known as flanger, although thats more guitars), and distortion because the human voice can't naturally do those (apart from chorus).
But I digress, becuase there's a point you made about "because not everyone in the world shares the same opinion about Beiber as you do, and that's certainly not Beiber's fault", now although it's not directly his fault, it can be seen as his fault indirectly because he has his fans that have their good opinion (the opposite of mine), and they have their good opinion becuase he sings his songs, whereas if he didnt sing those songs, and he was still an unkown person, noone would have a good opinion, now would they herr/fraulien Konayuki?

You missed my point about entertainment. Singing as an artform as as a form of entertainment are very different things IMO. There are things people can do which may make others question their musical ability, but causes their entertainment value to skyrocket. So what if his singing voice has underwent modifications? It entertains the audience and that's all the singer needs to accomplish.
Besides, don't forget that his mum has been putting up videos of Beiber singing well before he was discovered and those videos still got tons of views without the assistance of voice modification. That says to me that he has the innate ability to entertain well before he was polished up by the professionals.
I don't see how you can blame the fanbase's opinion on Beiber at all. One's opinion on something can only be changed by oneself. External factors can influence the decision, but you are the one who determines what your opinion on a certain matter is. Beiber doesn't have his entire fanbase hypnotised to do his every bidding, neither has he used some kind of magic to make a fair portion of the world hate him. Those opinions are formed by the people in question themselves, under the influence of external factors. There was a girl who made some YouTube video about life not being worth living because Beiber didn't get New Artist of the Year or something. I certainly hope you don't mean to say that it's Beiber's fault if that girl commits suicide, because that would just be silly.

Admittedly, I am mad that that mainstream (not just him, but others such as cheryl cole, Jessie J (I will admit i like pricetag despite it's mainstream-ness) and the like) because nearly everyone gets someone else too write songs for them, and when it comes to singing, they have to use pitch correction and voice modification because they sound out of tune otherwise, whereas some one like Cage the Elephant (search them on youtube if you've never heard of them) or someone similar are unheard of because of the media not taking notice. And unlike most haters who hate him for his 'music', i hate him (and mainstream) because of the other acts that are unknown that have genuine talent.
Now to what Konayuki said about his mother posting videos of him singing on youtube without the aid of voice modification, answer my question, if he can sing without VM and auto tune, why does he use it in his songs?

He probably uses it because he doesn't want to actually sing it. Maybe because, he just wants to? A lot of artists do that, it's typical. But when live, he sings with his whole heart and pure voice.<3

My rant has gone beyond him, my rant is against the whole mainstream music industry. Take Black Eyed Peas as an example, in the studio they sound like they can sing, but when they sing live, different story (although there are some factors to be taken into consiferation, such as the acoustics of the area being played in), whereas, lets say David Bowie, he sounds near enough the same both live and in the studio (with the same factors being taken into consideration).

one day you'll realize you have no place to determine who "has talent" and who "doesn't" because you're not an all-knowing musical genius like you may pretend you are. if someone wants to enjoy bieber, let them. if someone wants to enjoy something else, let them.

How does hating someone because other people don't get the same attention as that someone make any sense? It's not like Beiber goes out of his way to hog the spotlight. Next thing I know, you'll be hating the US Tennis Open because it detracts attention from other "good" TV shows. If you think other singers deserve much more talent than they are given, the logical thing to do would be to start promoting said singer among your circle of friends instead of sulking about how someone else is stealing the spotlight.
I'm not Beiber, so I wouldn't know why he uses voice modifications. Maybe he's doing too many concerts and wants to preserve his voice so he can keep developing albums over a longer period of time. Do his fans know that he uses voice modification? Maybe, maybe not. Will he lose fans if they find out? Again, maybe, maybe not. Will he still have millions listening to his music? For sure. And that last question is the heart of the matter IMO. You may have your opinion on Beiber because of him using voice modifications, but your opinion is a miniscule portion of the world's opinion, which is the one that determines the success or failure of an entertainer.

Firstly, I am not a musical genius (I don't know the difference between minor and major scales, but thats out laziness), but something tells me I know a bit more about musical theory than most mainstream singers. Secondly, I don't deserve to be famous for my musical exploits because I have not got enough talent (yet) and creativity (but even then, I wouldn't stoop so low as to get a computer to sing for me), so you can't really say I'm jealous of him for that reason (or you can, but you'll be wrong).

Then it's not Beiber's fault that your friends don't want to try out new music you recommend to them, neither is it your friends'. Mainstream music is what they want, and although you can influence their opinions on something, it ultimately is their choice and you're just going to have to respect that. I just don't see how you can blame Beiber for decisions other people are making for themselves.
Ah, it seems I have misunderstood. You're welcome to hate him as much as you want. I have no problems with that. I just find it annoying when people come in and say stuff like how Singer X doesn't sing real music.

I Love how you call someone's opinion flaming. You are acting like you are an almighty god and your opinion is all that matters. That is untrue, my opinion is:
He is a ******, his voice sounds like a 6 yr old girl with a sugar rush, he acts like a 6 yr old girl on crack, i vomit when i hear how bad his singing is, and the fact that he becomes rich by getting 13-15 yr old girls to drool.
A Lot of people think that, and if you don't want people saying that, you shouldn't have made this thread.

I made this thread. Because I can. No one has the right to deny me from making this thread, and if you don't like him, then don't waste your time hating on him. He hit puberty, just so you know. He's got a hair cut. He makes people 'drool' because a lot of girls in their teens and younger, just... think he's cute. A lot of 17 year old teenagers act younger than their ages. I do. I act younger than my age, sometimes.
Also, I'm not acting like a god. I'm just saying if you came here to hate on JB, then why bother wasting your time?

That's a false opinion, really. Did you even read what I said about him?
He's hit puberty. He got a hair cut. He acts younger than his age, because he can, and it's normal, even I do sometimes. He makes people 'drool' because he's cute.

Minor Infraction issued to Soldja. As per my PM to you, there are ways to make an opinion without resorting to flaming. Learn how to do so.

Silver Raven, learn what flaming is.
Are people flaming the President when they don't agree with something he is doing? No. If you don't like other peoples opinions, ignore them.
