Guide to using your Created Cards on YVD

To put your cards in your YVD set, simply open the yvd.set file in notepad (although you may want to back up your cards (i.e., put them in another txt and save it) if you're going to add lots and lots, because downloading the updated set on Scrollrack will erase all of the created cards already in the .set)

All cards follow the same format:

|Name|Number|Set|Type|Attribute|Level|Icon|ATK|DEF |Effect|0|

That 0 at the end simply tells YVD that it's the end of the line and to read the next line of the file. Some cards have a "1" at the end of it, but I honestly can't figure out what difference that makes. If anyone knows, please post it here...

If the category doesn't apply for a specific card, then just put another vertical bar and leave that area blank (for example, ATK and DEF on a spell card).

Examples:

To give your card an image, create a new folder in %install%\images (where %install% is the folder that you installed YVD into) and name it the abbreviation of your set (Examples: ghhd, nvmd, heco). This is where all of the card images for your set go into.

The actual image file is a .gif file, 40 x 40 dimensions. Name it the same name as your card, in all lower case and minus the spaces (Silver Wolf becomes silverwolf.gif) and put it in your new set folder (make sure the folder is the folder for the set of your card!).

Restart YVD if it was already open, as YVD needs to restart to load new cards into it. However, images you don't need to restart YVD for.

Now look for your created card. It appears on YVD! Build a deck with them and save it, if you'd like.

Finally, find someone who is willing to play a duel with you using custom cards. This is the hardest part, because finding people willing to play with created cards is next to impossible.

Sad story, every time I do this, when I restart YVD, a window pops up saying "Run-time error &#39;9&#39;: subscrpt out of range". Then I have to uninstall and reinstall.

And it&#39;s hard to get an image of a card that is exactly 40 x 40.

That&#39;s the error that you get when you&#39;ve done something wrong. I add created cards to my YVD sets all the time and don&#39;t get errors...

I tryed creating my own cards, I did exactly as you said, but its not working...I actually tryed creating your examples too, but its also not working. I open the set file with notepad i do exactly as you say and then i just save it (File - Save)..
but its not working...
What am i doing wrong? I just cant figure it out....

Yeah, i've tried this and it does works, even though players would have to agree to add both the same cards, otherwise its a badcard which is displayed, but organized dueling with selfmade sets would pwn, i can help on this, and would ilke to, since i've been recently been adding Worms and Fiend Roar Deities into the YVD, it would be a good practice and incentive to keep on adding the rest of the Archetypes

Sad story. Now it doesnt seem to work on my laptop. Worked just fine on my Desktop, but even by doing the Same thing with my Laptop YVD, it fails. The SETS remain the same.

TCG does it. I just made like 50 cards. The things is, you don't add the |0| after you're done, and you have to scroll to the bottom and change the total number of cards.

Oepn it with nod pad and copy it in the set... that is all.

P.S. if you update your yvd set with the update, make sure to edit that new set, because that will scrap your costum cards.
