Monkeys attacking the earth is not a movie I would pay $6+.
I would pay $1-3 to watch it, though.

Great movie IMO, I loved the part when Ceaser said "Ceaser is home"

I just saw something on Television called "Planet of the Apes" thought it was the same thing for a second.

Anyways, I'll watch it once it hits somewhere where I could watch it for a $1.

Title sounds very choppy. Makes me wonder why they didn't call it something simpler, like 'Rise of the Apes'. I never watched Planet of the Apes, so I wouldn't know.

The movie had very different tones and themes from the original, but this was to be expected as it showed a completely different side of the story. The team who made this movie is to be commended for making the apes into characters without reducing them to bland stereotypes. Any criticism I have are quashed by the awe I felt at how well the story was written.

Just having the apes grow more intelligent would not have been very good writing as it would not explain how they managed to uprise with humans having the tech we do. However having the virus that made the apes smart also cause brain hemorrhaging in humans allows for the story to be believable and ultimately make it even more enjoyable.

All in all a very good movie plagued by only a few issues not worth mentioning as I don't remember what they were. 88/100
