okay, watched the Lion King today... and got me thinking about a "Pride" archetype of lion monsters. it won't have any tuners/xyz/synchros/fusions/anything like that, so meh.

Pridelands - The Shadowlands
Field Spell
If this card is sent from your hand to your Graveyard: Activate it. If there was an active Field Spell when this effect activated: destroy the active Field Spell and its controller draws 1 card. All "Pride" monsters gain 800 ATK and lose 400 DEF.

Pridelands - Pride Kingdom
Field Spell
If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: Return all Field Spells in your Graveyard to your Deck. Once per turn: You can select 1 Field Spell in your deck and add it to your hand. All "Pride" monsters gain 1000 DEF.

Add 1 "Pride" monster to your hand from your Deck.

Scavenging
Spell
Target 2 "Pride" monsters in your Graveyard: Your opponent chooses 1 of them; Add it to your hand. Return the other card to the top of your deck.

Sunrise in the Pridelands
Spell
Target 1 Field Spell card in your Graveyard: Add it to your hand, then send 1 Field Spell card from your hand to your Graveyard.

Sunset in the Pridelands
Spell
Send 1 "Pride" monster from your hand to your Graveyard, and send 1 Field Spell card from your deck to your Graveyard.

Stalking Practice
Counter Trap
Activate only if you control 1 or more "Pride" monsters: Negate the Summon of your opponent's monster, and destroy it.

Stampede Canyon
Continuous Trap
Each time a "Pride" monster is Summoned: Target 1 monster your opponent controls; it loses 1000 ATK or DEF until the End Phase.

When the opponent activate any card effects, send Timo and Pumba to the graveyard to negate the effect.

Circle of Life
Quickplay
Tribute 1 Pride monster on the field to special summon 2 level 4 or lower Pride monster from your graveyard. These monsters cannot be used as synchro material.

Normal Spell
Tribute 1 Pride monster on the field to increase all Pride monster's attack by the tributed monster.

Boundary of the Sun
Trap
Activate when 1 Pride monster is being attacked, destroy the attacking monster without applying battle damage.

Great Spirit of the Pridelands

This card can only be special summoned by tributing 1 "Stampede Canyon" from play. When this or any other card on the field is targeted by an card effect, banish from play 1 beast type monster from the graveyard and discard 1 beast type monster from your hand. If this card is in the graveyard and a card targets 1 or more Pride monster, banish this card to negate that effect.
