Neo Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon
Rank 8 ********
Dragon/Xyz/Effect
3 Level 8 Monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned using "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" as Xyz Material: Negate the effect(s) of all other face-up cards on the field. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material to target 1 Xyz Monster your opponent controls; detach all Xyz Material from that card. This card gains 500 ATK for each Xyz Material detached and can attack a number of times equal to the number of Xyz Materials detached by this effect.
4500 ATK/ 3000 DEF

prob. one of the better cover cards we have had in a good while

Rabbit can't summon this? Or am I missing something?Maybe 2x Alexandrites for GEPD, and then do other shenanigans?

I'm not liking this all that much. It's good, but I don't see a place for this other than dragons, and then, it might be a good idea to just keep your 3 level 8's.

I can't wait for a rank 8 that requires 2 level 8's with no other restrictions (as long as it is good). Will pass on this

I hate this card immensely. I would rather have 3 GEPD or 3x REDMD or w/e level 8's your using then get this thing out.

My logic, is perfect fyi And the "it" is the regular Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon which I use. Then they turn it xyz, though that xyz is just for show in my opinion since I could just dark hole all the matierial and negate cards and use my Galaxy-Eyes to wipe the life outta that deck!

Well that's fine and dandy but, what if they made it with their own GEPD. You'd be up poop creek without a paddle.
The card has a pretty powerful effect and atk backing it to make it worth the triple 8 star. Main issue is people often spend so many resources dropping the 3 lvl8s that often the 3 lvl8s can game that turn. It's not that it's not good, it's just not practical however I still say it would be awesome to make a deck around it.

Oh actually, I think I can see where this card will come from in the anime and is most likely the best method of getting it out:
GEPD + gagaga magician and gagaga girl (Kaito has GEPD, yuma then does a combo to get out magician and girl in the same turn, emperor key lights up, yuma makes magician and girl a lvl8 then triple overlay into this). Just putting that out there so I can say I called it.

It's not a rip off. It's a pump up. And Dark Hole is one card. And you won't always have that one card. Even if you do destroy it, I'll just Reborn it and swing for 4500. It's a great card. Hard to utilize, however, but still a great card.

Well it will not be the most practical deck out there for tournaments and such, Regular Galaxy-eyes is good for tournaments but not neo galaxy-eyes

Well it will not be the most practical deck out there for tournaments and such, Regular Galaxy-eyes is good for tournaments but not neo galaxy-eyesNeither this card or GEPD would be at all practical for higher level tourny's, dragons havent topped recently at all. So that shuts out GEPD, and this card isn't practical enough for use at higher level tournies. That doesnt mean either are bad cards. Just means they arent top tier. Who knows though, maybe someday we'll get some new cards to make them playable.

Well, it's not THAT hard, right now the Wiki says it's just any 3 Level 8s. You could use some Flamvell Monster Mash variant and do:

Rekindling for 2 Magician + 2 Firedog
Tune Magician and Firedog for Level 8 (And if it is Dragons then there are PLENTY of splashable ones.)
Repeat.

There's two level 8's right there, with a bit of luck. And if you wanted you could run Laval Lancelord (2100 ATK/200 DEF), and with one in your grave and one in your had you can special one with the Rekindling, normal the other with it's own effect, and then tribute both for a GEPD.

Question to all you ppls that are getting wet about this card: weren't you all just bitching about Thunder End Dragon not having a practical application in gameplay? This one seems to have the very same issue except instead of Normal monsters you need 3 Lvl 8s. So far the best way I heard to get it out is the plan that dude said will happen in the anime, but still it seems like a bit of a stretch. NGEPD does seem totally awesome and would be a neat addition to any collection. However I don't think we will be seeing a lot of it (if any) in any REAL tournament.

Reason thunder-end sucks to a certain degree: requires NORMAL monsters. You, know, run of the mill normal with no effects to SS themselves or others or even an effect at all. They need outside cards that might not mash well with an average deck and even then you may have to base a deck around it to just get it out, not ideal considering LS might set-up for JD but it isn't out of their way, they naturally set-up for him.
This card only needs generic lvl8s (at time of typing that's what the info was) which opens up options. Like I said, gagaga monsters can make this easier by a mile without doubt (consider the fact spellcasters have a decent amount of support) I could see this being used in a deck that specialised strongly in high level overlaying or even just varied rank choices really. Not saying it will see a tournament deck but it has a deck that doesn't suck balls which is pretty awesome.
(I mean, thanks to dark flattop I can make a good sky fire deck. Doesn't mean it wins tournaments but it's nice to have those fun decks you can bust out and have fun duels with).

BTW, I know what a NORMAL monster is and am fully aware of the summoning conditions of both monsters as I am well versed in the art of reading and enjoy doing so. kthxbai ^_^

Don't hate something just because you lose to it. Or lose it. It's a card game, and Xyz/Synchro monsters win games. So... yeah.

Lol Not in my expierence man i used to use em against pros and i built my main deck well enough that id have 2 tyrant dragons out before i could get 1 synchro out and wrap the game up, sadly though that deck was stolen along with a TON of rares my stardust dragon , stardust dragon assault mode was stolen , thank good nesss at the time i forgot to add some cards to the deck that are essential that that deck didnt need.

Yes.pretty much.

Back on topic however, while no, this card may not be very efficient to use... I think it still makes many of the small children who play this game cry, especially considering this:

It's the pack's headliner.

It's going to be in a tin.

It's going to be everywhere.

You make a solid point in stating that it will most likely be incredibly easy to obtain. I stand by all my previous comments however, if it sees competitive play it will make ppl very VERY mad. lol

Does not support Internet bullying...

I do, however, support brokenness (which is, anymore, the base unit of our wonderful game's existence) and this card, while hard to summon outside of dragons, fits the bill. Negates the effects of ALL OTHER FACE-UP CARDS... really?! Like, as a continuous effect? Do they mean to imply that this card can only be killed by the likes of Exiled Force and Honest?

On top of that, the byz eating effect is okay, but the other effect would mean no Dark Hole, no Monster Reborn, you basically have to beat this thing head to head with nothing but pure power of some monster you can generate... or Newdoria!

Kojow
January 15th, 2012, 10:36 PM
The negate part of the effect sounds like it's trigger, not continuous. This thing is not very broken at all, just looks cool imo.

The card is decent at best. Dragons will have fun with it as it actually something worth summoning (like thunder-end who, under the conditions that would get him out, is useless) and could prove game ending without a doubt. Main issue is these days boss monsters no longer really have sway. To be heard in this meta you need ether a busted effect (goyo, brionac, tour guide and the such like) to actually be worth anything to the meta. Then again konami has learned that boss monsters need to have staying power or something to get rid of stall cards, this has the latter. For one, it gets past zenmaines twice over (effect negation AND the anti-Xyz effect) and it can deal with other pains. It also gives up staying power at all for extreme attack power (at 4500atk, you don't exactly pass this card off unless you have D. prison face-down or mirror force!). Nice card all in all, however these days it's not about what you have but can you keep it on field (which is why shooting star dragon sees most play out of a lot of boss monsters, staying power like a BAWS....yeah, not clever but meh).

Summary: nice card like I said but anything outside of dragons is not going to use this unless someone manages to break the gagaga archetype XD.

I'm absolutely running this as soon as I can get my hands on one. Thunder-End i had to try to pull out, but this I like because they don't have to be normals.
